Lucretia Murphy, J.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Lucretia Murphy is a vice president at JFF and leads the Center for Justice and Economic Advancement. Her expertise is at the intersection of education and employment with the criminal legal system to create economic mobility for people with a record of arrest, conviction and incarceration. She has a particular focus on issues of parity and approaches that confront structural racism and other forms of bias in institutional and systemic policies, practices, and processes.

She is a passionate and compelling speaker on many topics, including the economic advancement of young people, women and the systemic factors that create or constrain real prosperity and equal opportunity for people and places. Lucretia says she was drawn to JFF by the chance to shape opportunity structures so that people can transform their lives. Lucretia is the mother of two boys and enjoys chasing her sons, traveling, and reading (or keeping lists of books to read).
