We’re excited to see the Virginia State Bar’s proposal to let court clerks and librarians provide limited legal help. This is a great step toward making legal assistance more accessible!
At Frontline Justice, we believe Virginia can build on this momentum by including trained community justice workers—trusted community members like social workers, faith leaders, and shelter volunteers who are already helping people with urgent legal issues. With the right training and support, they could play an even bigger role in making sure more people get the help they need, when they need it.
This is an opportunity for Virginia to lead the way in rethinking how legal support is provided!
