On Tuesday, July 9th, the Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing entitled “Closing the Justice Gap: How to Make the Civil Justice System Accessible to All Americans.” This marked the first such hearing in over 15 years.
Nikole Nelson, Frontline Justice CEO, testified alongside Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice Nathan Hecht, Frontline Justice’s National Leadership Council Member; Ron Flagg, President of the Legal Services Corporation; and Veronica Gonzalez, a former legal aid client who now sits on the board of directors of Legal Aid Chicago.
